RMade is the responsible party for personal information collected through rmade.co.za, as that term is defined in POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013).
What we collect and why
- Name, phone, email — to issue quotes and respond to enquiries (performance of a contract)
- Company and trade number — to apply trade pricing and manage credit (performance of a contract)
- Delivery address — to price and make delivery (performance of a contract)
- Quote and order history — to calculate VIP tier and support warranty claims (legitimate interest)
- Saved measurements — to size fittings for spaces you tell us about (consent)
- Site usage data — to keep the site working and improve it (legitimate interest)
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We share it only with couriers delivering to you, our payment provider, our IT service providers under written agreement, and where the law requires disclosure.
Cookies
- Essential — keeps you signed in and holds your quote while you browse. These cannot be refused; the site cannot work without them.
- Analytics — tells us which pages are used and where people get stuck. You may refuse these.
- Preference — remembers your pricing view and category filters. You may refuse these.
Retention
- Account and transaction records are retained for five years after your last order, as required by tax legislation.
- Marketing contact details are removed as soon as you unsubscribe.
- Saved measurements are retained until you delete them or close your account.
Security
- We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls and logging.
- Where a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
- To ask what personal information we hold about you
- To ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- To ask us to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep
- To object to processing, including direct marketing
- To complain to the Information Regulator
Direct marketing
We send marketing only to customers who have opted in or who have bought from us, and every message carries an unsubscribe option.
Children
This site is intended for business and adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
